The IPL offers a great chance for players to put their names in front of their respective national selectors. In a World Cup year, the urge to perform well is even greater.

In this year’s edition of the tournament, it’s been interesting to see some of India’s fringe players staking their claim. With less than six months before that World Cup begins in Australia, who has caught the attention of the management team at IPL 15?

World Cup Key Information

The eighth edition of the T20 World Cup will be hosted by defending champions Australia. The tournament will get underway on October 16th and it will conclude with the final on November 13th.

16 teams will take part in the main tournament and India are favourites to lift the trophy. According to cricket betting sites affiliated with Sbo.net, Rohit Sharma’s men are just ahead of Australia with England, New Zealand, Pakistan and the West Indies among the other teams in close contention.

National teams will now focus on T20 cricket in the lead up to the World Cup. There are lots of matches to be played in the coming weeks and SBO will adjust their markets in reaction to the results.

While site visitors are considering the updated odds, they can also read up on news and opinion articles from the wider cricket community. Sportsbooks mentioned here are also ready to take on new customers for those who want to take their interest further.

The majority of outlets will have a welcome promotion on the table and there may be ongoing offers once that has been used up. A range of deposit and withdrawal options, plus effective customer service, provide a sound infrastructure.

Other benefits may include a choice of other sports, a mobile betting app and the potential to live stream sport for those with a funded account. If you are thinking about betting on the T20 World Cup, this is the site to follow but who are the players looking to boost India’s chances?

Umran Malik

A raw 22-year-old with genuine pace, Umran Malik can turn into India’s most effective fast bowler of all time. As Ravi Shastri has pointed out. The youngster needs to find more accuracy, but speed is a potent weapon and he may yet make it into the World Cup squad.

Expect to see Malik given his first taste of international cricket in the upcoming T20 series with South Africa.

KL Rahul

None of the players on this list was included in India’s most recent T20 international against the West Indies in February. KL Rahul was omitted from that game but his performances for Lucknow Super Giants suggest that he’s ready to return.

It’s been a mixed campaign to an extent. Rahul made a first ball duck against Gujarat but a century against Mumbai Indians proved he can still score heavily in this format.

Hardik Pandya

Gujarat Titans’ Hardik Pandya has impressed with the bat and the ball while his captaincy skills have shown that he has matured as an all-round cricketer. He’s top scored on a number of occasions for this new franchise as they have marched towards a playoff place.

Hardik may not be seen as a natural leader, but those displays may even mark him down as a future captain of India.

Ruturaj Gaikwad

Chennai Super Kings batter Ruturaj Gaikwad has already played in three T20 internationals but has been overlooked after making just 39 runs in those games. It’s been a difficult year for CSK, but Gaikwad has held the batting together at times and is deserving of another chance.

He has a century in this format and has a strike rate above 133 so maybe it’s time for the selectors to take another look at Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Sanju Samson

With Jos Buttler scoring the majority of runs for his Rajasthan Royals team, captain Sanju Samson has taken something of a back seat. He has, however, stepped up on the rare occasions that Buttler has failed.

India will need a capable back up wicket keeper to Rishabh Pant and Samson can do a job with the bat and the gloves.
