Virat Kohli might have returned to his old batting form with a stunning hundred in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly planning to have a conversation with him and also with the all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja regarding their future in T20 international cricket after the mega event – T20 World Cup of 2022.
It has been reported by InsideSport that Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja’s workload in the team is the highest at the moment, as they play all three formats of the game as well. While it has been seen that Jadeja sustaining injuries in recent times, Kohli has struggled with mental exhaustion and poor form as well and he also has taken breaks from the game to freshen himself up in between.
While India has got a lot of options now for the T20 format of the game, the Indian team management and the selectors want Kohli and Jadeja to focus only on the other two longer formats as well following the T20 World Cup 2022 finishes in Australia. However, Rohit Sharma is another senior player who might be talked to as well by the Indian team management but it won’t be held before the conclusion of the ODI World Cup of 2023 as well.
Celebrate these people while you can because this is most likely to be the last T20 WC for Kohli, Rohit, Bhuvi, Jadeja, Ashwin and DK

The reports also suggested that BCCI had made it clear to Rohit Sharma at the time of appointing him the captain that he would be in charge till the ODI World Cup of 2023 and he would be allowed to execute his gameplan till the end of that tournament before any transition plans as well. However, after the last T20 World Cup in UAE, the Indian team management had similar discussions with Mohammed Shami and he was told clearly that he wouldn’t be considered for the shortest format as well.
