BCCI Unveils India’s Test Series Schedule Against England In 2024
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled India’s packed schedule for the five-match Test series against England, slated to commence after the 2023 ODI World Cup. The Men in Blue will engage in a gripping five-match Test battle against England, commencing in January of the following year.
India is set to resume its campaign in the third cycle of the World Test Championship, locking horns with England in an intense series starting January 25, 2024. The teams will face off in five enthralling Test encounters.

The series will kick off in Hyderabad on January 25, followed by the second Test in Vizag on February 2. Rajkot will host the third Test match on February 15, while the fourth match is scheduled to begin on February 23 in Ranchi. The fifth and final Test of the gripping series will take place in Dharamsala on March 7, 2024.

The Senior Men’s team is scheduled to play a total of 16 International matches, comprising 5 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 8 T20Is.

In the previous Test series between India and England on Indian soil, the teams contested a captivating four-match series, with India emerging victorious with a 3-1 scoreline. The four Tests were played in Chennai and Ahmedabad, each venue hosting two matches.
India kicked off their third World Test Championship campaign with a convincing 1-0 victory against the West Indies in the Caribbean. In the opening Test of the two-match series, India dominated the hosts, securing an emphatic innings and 141-run win at Windsor Park in Dominica. The second Test ended in a draw as rain played spoilsport, washing out the entire final day’s play at Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain.

Prior to the West Indies series, India contested the final of the 2023 World Test Championship against Australia. Unfortunately, the Baggy Greens emerged victorious, defeating Rohit Sharma’s men by 209 runs, resulting in India’s second WTC Final defeat. In the initial cycle of the World Test Championship, India had faced a similar fate, losing the final to Kane Williamson’s New Zealand side.
