There is no doubt about the fact that MS Dhoni is one of the most successful captains India has ever witnessed, but recently, there were some speculations of his retirement from international cricket as he was immensely criticized for his slow innings in the ODI series against England.

But what caught the fans off-guard on Friday was that the app of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) showed Dhoni to be the captain of the Indian cricket team and not Virat Kohli. The BCCI was trolled massively on social media by Indian cricket fans for this clerical error.

Here are some of the posts which trolled BCCI:

On Friday, MS Dhoni was the talk of fans once again when they noticed that the official app of the BCCI still shows his subtitle as the captain of India. Dhoni has just completed playing the limited-overs leg on India’s tour of England and was seen taking the match ball from the umpires as both teams walked back to the pavilion after the hosts had registered a 2-1 series win.

In his last Test match against Australia in 2014, Dhoni had taken the stumps with him despite the fact that the match was drawn. Usually, players take such things as a memorabilia of the occasion. But, later on, India’s head coach, Ravi Shastri had clarified that MS wanted to show the ball to Bharat Arun. ]lmn8765458

‘Dhoni also faced as under the cosh during the recently-concluded ODI series in England. The legend got some runs under his belt but his strike-rate was abysmal. Critics questioned his approach towards batting and suggested Team India look at other options ahead of the 2019 ICC World Cup.

Captian Kohli, however, put his weight behind Dhoni and asked people not to jump to conclusions. “It’s very unfortunate people just jump to conclusions very quickly. When he does well, people call him the best finisher ever and when they don’t go well, they all pounce on him,” he said.
