Under the leadership of the Virat Kohli, the Indian team defeated the West Indies 2-1 in the T20I series and now their eyes are on the ODI series, which is scheduled to start on 15 December. Team India has already reached Chennai for the first ODI match, but a major player gets injured. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who manages to tackle India’s veteran pacer, has been injured again.

However, Bhuvaneshwar will have to face the upcoming ODI series. In his place, Navdeep Saini may be included in the squad. Saini has also recovered from injury and has returned to play the Ranji trophy.

Earlier in August, Kumar got injured and he was out of the team since then. He played in the T20 series against the Windies but is now likely to miss the ODIs due to an injury. The nature of the injury could not be confirmed, but it is understood that the selectors, who are awaiting a final word from the Indian team’s medical staff, are likely to name a replacement for Bhuvnewshar.

The development will come as yet another setback for Bhuvneshwar, for whom injuries have become a constant in the recent past. During the 2019 50-over World Cup, Bhuvi suffered a hamstring injury during Team India’s high-intensity game against arch-rivals Pakistan, and even though he made through the tournament.

Bhuvneshwar had to miss the T20I series against South Africa and Bangladesh as he continued to recover from injury. However, the Uttar Pradesh pacer was then asked to recover at the National Cricket Academy, where he took more than expected time to recover and a lot of questions were also raised regarding the same.

Bhuvneshwar did make his comeback in the recently concluded T20I series against West Indies where after looking out of form in the initial stage, the bowler came back brilliantly in the series decider.
