Over the period of time, the fans have seen the loyalties of the players getting a change of the players in the Indian Premier League (IPL). On Tuesday, David Miller on Tuesday was the star for Gujarat Titans (GT) as his knock of 38-ball 68* took his side over the line against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Miller’s heroics helped Gujarat to reach the final of the season in their maiden season. Till last season, he was with the Royals and now he has come back to haunt them. To rub salt to the wound, David Miller tweeted after the win and said ‘sorry’ to his former team.

David Miller was also awarded the man of the match for his match-winning knock. At the presentation, he revealed his gameplan which has given him success. He said, “My personal game – I’m enjoying my role, I’ve been playing for many years now. Understanding my game a lot better. In high-pressure situations, you tend to go away from your gameplan but I feel like I’m trying to keep everything together close to the gameplan.”

GT chased down the target of 189 with 7 wickets in hand to become the first team to reach IPL 2022 final. On a two-paced track, Royals rode on Jos Buttler’s 56-ball-89 to reach a decent score of 188 for six in 20 overs, which seemed like a winning total considering the pressure of the occasion. But Hardik Pandya (40 no off 27 balls) and David Miller (68 off 38 balls) made a huge partnership of 101 runs to take the team over the line with three balls to spare.
After the match, GT skipper, Hardik Pandya said, “A lot of people counted David Miller out but for us he was always a match-winner from the time we brought him in the auction. What he did today, we always expected him to do that. But for us it was important to give him importance, love and clarity that what we expect of him and if he fails it’s okay, ‘it’s just a game’.”

With the win, Gujarat became the first side to reach the final of the IPL 2022.
