After having a poor Ashes series, David Warner has finally back in form. He smashed 154 against the visiting team Pakistan in the first Test match at the Gabba, Brisbane. This was his first ton after returning to Test cricket from the ball-tampering scandal against South Africa in Cape Town. He had managed just 95 runs in the Ashes earlier this year, which was drawn 2-2 with Australia retained the urn on the back of a tremendous haul of 774 runs in 4 Tests by Steve Smith alongside the contributions from Marnus Labuschagne and Matthew Wade.

David Warner is a family man who loves his family a lot. His daughters Ivy Mae (5 years), Indi Rae (3 years) and Isla Rose (5 months) are his worlds. During the IPL, they were seen with Warner and cheered for him. However, Warner dedicated his first century after his return to his daughters in style, as he wore shoes with names of his three daughters embroidered on them as well.

“I don’t feel under pressure at all. For me, it’s about going back out there and backing my ability. I’m back now and need to keep working hard, keeping being respectful of the game. The Ashes for me was a failure, in terms of runs, but… I wasn’t out of form, I was just out of luck. Today I had a little bit of luck,” Warner was quoted as saying by India Today.

David Warner’s century, Marnus Labuschagne’s career-best 185 and half-centuries from Joe Burns and Matthew Wade, helped Australia put up 580 runs in reply to Pakistan’s 240 runs. Mitchell Starc had picked 4 for 52, while Pat Cummins took 3 for 60 for Australia in the first innings. Pakistan has scored 64 for 3 in their second innings with Starc picking two more scalps while Shan Masood (27*) and Babar Azam (20*) at the crease at the stumps on day three.
