Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is considered as one of the most entertaining players in the world. His power-hitting capabilities and spin bowling can pose a great threat to the opponents. He has been amazing for Australia across formats as well. However, he was recently in the news for taking a break from cricket due to his mental health issues. After that, the players like Will Pucovski and Nic Maddinson also took a break from the game to deal with the problem.

Recently, Glenn Maxwell opened up about his struggles with mental health and explained how it was his partner Vini Raman that first noticed his problem. He decided to take a break from the game during Australia’s T20 series against Sri Lanka in October. However, he has returned to club cricket recently.

“I’ve been getting back into the swing of things for a while. I think I was pretty cooked. I decided to take some time off and a big reason as to why I took that time away was because I was mentally and physically ruined from I think it was eight months on the road and living out of a suitcase,” Glenn Maxwell was quoted as saying by India Today.

“It just all caught up with me at that time and I really want to thank Cricket Australia, Cricket Victoria and the (Melbourne) Stars for giving me that space and having that time away from the game. It was actually my partner who suggested I speak to someone; she was the first person who noticed it. Once I had that initial conversation it was a huge weight off my shoulders,” he added.

Maxwell has returned to club cricket for Victoria and he has also put his name in the upcoming IPL 2020 auction with the base price of INR 2 crore. He will also lead the Melbourne Stars in the upcoming Big Bash League season.
