The legendary Australian seamer, Glenn McGrath is currently in India and he recently featured in a private session hosted by HCL Technology during the World Economic Forum [WEF] where he opened up on a plethora of things. He also shared his much-celebrated duels with the legendary Indian batsman, Sachin Tendulkar during his playing days including the controversial LBW that Umpire Daryl Harper gave of Sachin during the 1999 Test in Adelaide.

McGrath was also asked about who, in his opinion, are the top-two leading fast bowlers and batsmen in the world currently. And, according to him, South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada and India’s Jasprit Bumrah- the No.1 ranked ODI bowler in the world- are two of the best fast bowlers at the moment.

As per the quotes in Outlook, McGrath said, “Bumrah is quite a unique bowler. He doesn’t have a long run-up like a lot of fast bowlers have. But he has got a good pace, incredible control, and the right attitude. This South African bowler Rabada is an amazing bowler, I’m a big fan of his”.

When asked why he didn’t pick any Australian bowler, McGrath cheekily shrugged it off by saying that they all are great. However, while picking the top two batsmen in the current generation, he didn’t have any hesitation in picking Steve Smith and Virat Kohli.

Talking about Smith and Kohli, McGrath said: “Smith is a little bit unique, he is a little strange, he is not normal, but has got a great hand and eye coordination. Technically, he is not a textbook batsman, but the way he bats is amazing. On the other hand, there is Kohli. He is a class player and is very technically correct. He is a little bit unusual and very aggressive on the filed especially as Indian captain, but he is a class player.”
