All batsmen come out to bat on a cricket field with the hope of scoring or chasing a winning totals in order to achieve victory in the match. There are situations when batsmen fail to take their teams past the winning line. There are situations, which are obviously the worst ones for a batting unit, known as batting collapses.
No team, as a batting unit, would ever want to be part of a batting collapse. But, it is easier said than done. There are times when you, even without wanting to, succumb to the opposition bowlers. One reason for the same can be the quality of the opposition bowlers. Another could be the condition of the pitch or the conditions above it. The third one could be a blend of the above two.
Batting collapses happen more in Test cricket than in limited-overs format of the game. It becomes really difficult for a team to resurrect from a batting collapse and revert back to the winning ways.
