Indian senior off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has been lashed out by the Windies fast bowler Tino Best and some cricket fans after comparing the present Windies Test team with the Ranji Plate Group teams.
From a long time, the Windies cricket team has been failed to be competitive consistently in the Test cricket and their recent away records are more horrific. While once the team had ruled the longest cricket format in every part of the world cricket, the present cricket fans are hardly feeling satisfied with the Windies’ players’ performances in the Test cricket.

Currently, they are playing two-match away Test series against the hosts and the no.1 Test side India. In the first Test at Rajkot, the visitors’ performances were very hopeless. While the Indian team declared their first innings on 649/9, Windies were bowled out for just 181 and 196 (follow-on) respectively as India won by an innings and 272 runs.

On day 2 of the Rajkot Test, Harbhajan Singh came with a Tweet where he compared the Windies team with the Ranji Plate Group teams. He tweeted, “With all due respect to West Indies Cricket but I have a question for u all…will this west Indies team qualify for Ranji quarters from the plate group? Elite se to nahin hoga #INDvsWI”

In the new Ranji Trophy format that will be available from 2018/19 season, the nine new domestic teams will fight in the tournament from the Plate Group and only the top team of the group can qualify for the quarter-final. There will be also three Elite groups in the 2018/19 Ranji Trophy where a total of 27 other old domestic teams will participate.
Windies pacer Tino Best replied Harbhajan by tweeting, “Hey bro didn’t see these cocky tweets vs England …. but anyhow the young men will learn.” In their recent England tour (Test series between this August and September), India lost the five-match Test series by the 4-1 margin.
Hey bro didn’t see these cocky tweets vs England 🤷🏾♂️ …. but anyhow the young men will learn 🙏🏾

Apart from Tino Best, some cricket fans have also lashed out Harbhajan Singh for his comment. Here are some of those tweets:
If English ex cricketgers had made such comments about our teams the previous tours in 2011 and 2014, how would you have reacted? Disrespectful

As a punjabi, indian I'm ashamed of @harbhajan_singh … Sorry Tino @tinobest and all the people of West Indies…

They are a young squad & this is a learing curve for them. They won a test in England with a brilliant chase in 4th innings.
Done recently well at home. Atleast your are cricketer & please stopping tweeting these shits.

Sir 1 mahina pehla India ka haal bhi yahi tha Eng me. Toh kisika mazak kyu banae jab saare team apne apne country me achha khelti hai.

It is very disrespectful to ridicule a team which is struggling to put the team together. Their conflict with their board is not a secret to anyone. And our 'commentators' do not criticize enough when Indians underperform in overseas test series.

With all due respect… this kind of behaviour is the reason you are sitting here and tweeting instead of playing. Very Disrespectful.

Bhai log 200-250 bhi chase nahi ho rahi thi hamare diggajo se. Aur hum No.1 team hain usko close nahi kehte. Aur close series tab hota agar 3-2 ya 1-0 se haarte, 4-1 se haarne ko close nahi one- sided kehte hain. Ravi Shastri jaisi baat mat karo.

Without any respect, this is the same WI that got BAN for 41 runs. The same BAN that won on AUS and ENG. So please have some respect for other cricketing nations sir ji.

Later, Harbhajan tweeted, “Sad to see this situation of West Indies cricket.. there was a time when people fear playing against them.. hope they do get some good players and compete at international level..”
