With just 3 days left to the IPL 2022 first match between CSK and KKR, fans are ready to buy IPL tickets as the crowd are allowed in the stadium. However, no information is there on IPL and ticketing partners’ websites. Meanwhile, a senior BCCI official has said that the tickets will go on sale from March 23.
However, the tickets used to go on sale at least two weeks before the 1st match. But, this time the delay happened by the ongoing discussion over the capacity as well. Earlier, the number was fixed at 25% but the BCCI has requested to increase it to 40% as well amid the Covid-19 situation. Notably, tickets will go live from March 23 on iplt20.com, bookmyshow.com and insider.in as well.

“The tickets should be live from Wednesday for all venues and matches including in Pune,” a senior BCCI official has told to InsideSport.
On the other hand, the Maharashtra government has earlier announced 25% capacity for all stadiums in Mumbai and Pune, with a high alert from the Government of India due to the increasing number of Covid cases in China and Europe, the decision was put on hold too. However, instead of playing matches in empty stadiums, they can allow a 40% crowd for league matches.

“There has been a lot of back and forth on the sitting capacity. Then the Covid alert came. But the discussions have been very positive and we expect at least 40% crowd for the league matches. But in any case, it’s not final. There should be a decision by today,” the senior official again shared.
