The second Test between India and England is scheduled to be commencing on Saturday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The visiting team has played some dominating cricket in the first Test and defeated the hosts by 227 runs. The English skipper, Joe Root led by example with a stunning double century in the first innings. Although the visiting team will be without Jofra Archer and Jos Buttler for the second Test, they have enough depth to do without the duo.

With Ben Stokes providing some much-needed balance to the visitors, England will fancy the chances of registering an unassailable lead in the four-match series. On the other hand, India will be itching to get over their disappointing loss in the first Test. The captaincy of Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane’s form with the bat will be under scrutiny over the period of the second Test. Axar Patel’s availability might bring a few changes to the Indian bowling set-up.

Although both teams look evenly-matched on paper, India will be having some edge ahead of the game, given the nature of the surface. But England is in fine form and will be high on confidence after registering three consecutive victories in Asia. With a place in the World Test Championship final also up for grabs, a cracking game of Test match cricket beckons in Chennai.

Here are some fantasy XI predictions for the game:

Wicket-Keepers

Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant seems to be a better pick as he has been known for making a strong comeback and he will be much more effective on pitches in Chennai. However, for England, Ben Foeakes will be keeping the wickets as he is known for playing match-winning knocks, but in order to maintain the balance of the Fantasy XI, Pant seems the better pick.

Batsmen

Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Joe Root, and Dom Sibley have always been the prime contenders for fantasy cricket. Even, Rohit Sharma also is added in fantasy cricket and that will depend on the balance of the squad. Apart from them, there are some useful batsmen in the line-ups as well, like Shubman Gill, and Rory Burns.

There are some really reliable all-rounders in both teams but citing the pitch in Chennai, R Ashwin, Axar Patel, and Ben Stokes seems to be the perfect fit. Apart from them, the good all-rounder for fantasy cricket is Hardik Pandya and Moeen Ali.

Bowlers

Both the teams don’t have decent bowling line-ups but they don’t have practiced a lot.
