On Thursday night game of IPL 2018 at Eden Gardens (Kolkata), hosts Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) claimed a comfortable 6-wicket victory (with 14 balls to spare) against the in-form team Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik decided to field first after winning the toss. CSK managed to put 177/5 in 20 overs which were successfully chased down by the hosts in 17.4 overs after losing 4 wickets.

i) CSK batsmen MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja put an important 54-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

iv) At the end of the game, KKR leg-spinner Piyush Chawla has taken 50 IPL wickets for KKR.

  • First IPL bowler to claim 50 or more wickets for two different IPL teams. Earlier, he picked up 84 IPL wickets for Kings XI Punjab.
  • The second KKR bowler to claim 50 or more IPL wickets. Off-spinner Sunil Narine (105 wickets till the end of the game) was the first KKR bowler to achieve this feat.

  • The second highest IPL knock by a KKR captain against CSK at Eden Gardens (Kolkata). The record is 62 runs knock by former KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir on May 14, 2012.
