During the 19th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils at Bengaluru, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock was dismissed after he and his captain Virat Kohli were involved in a dreadful attempt of running a single.
After Virat Kohli sent the Daredevils in to bat, the visitors scored 174-5 on the back of Rishabh Pant’s fourth IPL half-century in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Royal Challengers Bangalore did not start their chase in the best possible way as they lost Manan Vohra (2) in the second over.

What further dented the Royal Challengers progress was the wicket of de Kock, who came in to open the innings alongside Vohra. It happened on the third delivery of the fifth over when Kohli played a ball towards the backward point region.
Interested in running the single, Kohli did not realise that the run was never on. He ran in towards the other end without realising that his partner could be in danger. The same happened as de Kock was left stranded in the middle of the pitch. He ended up scoring 18 (16) with the help of one four and one six.
