RCB has started their year with yet another disappointment. They have lost three matches out of four and have failed to give a team performance. Though individual performances of Kohli and Umesh Yadav and AB De Villiers has impressed but the team in total has failed to deliver. The formation of the team has created a lot of tension for the skipper and the head coach Daniel Vettori.

Vettori has explained the main factors behind their loss. In spite of such a fiery spell from Yadav and the pacer being able to take down two early wickets in the first over, RCB bowlers have failed to conceive runs in the death overs leaking extra 80 runs against Mumbai that have put some extra run on the boards. On one hand, where Umesh has the economy of 15 runs in the five overs, other bowlers like Kulwant Khejroliya has 13 economy rate in one over. Such numbers are disgracing according to Vettori.

Vettori too couldn’t stop praising the lone man who stood in the crease, Virat Kohli and his excellent 92 runs on the board.

“The frustration will be around the backend of the bowling because when you are chasing that much, it puts an extreme amount of pressure on how we play. Virat played exceptionally well today, but unfortunately, no one could go with him. So our frustrations will be about how we ended with the ball in the last two games,” Daniel Vettori said.

He further added that in the game the spinners went on to a defensive mode rather than attacking. Whereas on the other hand MI spinners took to keep a check on runs and the pacers supported them by taking wickets.

“When the Mumbai spinners came on, they were in a really good position, and that allowed them to actually bowl a little more attacking, with a bit more flight, put something on the ball, and you saw the rewards they got. But they (Mumbai) batted exceptionally well, and that was the difference between when our spinners bowled and when their spinners bowled,” he concluded.
