IPL 2019: Availability Of MS Dhoni For Delhi Clash Not Confirmed Yet

There are chances that the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper, MS Dhoni will be missing the game against Delhi Capitals (DC). He had also missed the CSK’s previous game against Mumbai Indians (MI) due to illness. Head coach Stephen Fleming gave an update on Dhoni on the eve of the game and he said that the skipper had been ‘pretty sick’ last week and a call on his participation will be taken just before the toss.

Currently, there are chances that The signs are not very promising for the Super Kings at the moment. Dhoni could not take part in Tuesday’s training session and also missed the practice on Monday. With the playoffs are in the horizon, it is highly likely that CSK team management will be opting to rest their skipper although the temptation to seal a place among the top two tonight could make them decide otherwise.

With 8 wins from 12 games, Super Kings have already sealed their spot in the playoffs. They now need just one more win from two games to certainly seal a spot in the top two. Describing Dhoni’s scenario, Fleming said, “Dhoni is progressing and he’s been pretty sick during this week. We will make a call on him tomorrow. He is progressing which is good.”

CSK have struggled without Dhoni this season. They have played two games in his absence and ended on the losing side on both occasions. In their last outing against Mumbai, CSK was bundled out for 109. Dhoni is Super Kings’ top run-scorer this season with 314 runs from 10 outings.

Apart from MS Dhoni, Fleming also gave an update on Faf du Plessis and Ravindra Jadeja. Both the players had missed the clash against Mumbai but are now available for selection. He said, “Faf’s been fine. Whenever he wears a singlet, means he is in good shape. Jadeja’s training well. They are definitely into consideration for tomorrow.”
