In the Royal Rumble, Rajasthan won the toss and inserted Bengaluru to bat first, who made three changes in the team. Marcus Stoinis, Navdeep Saini and Akshdeep Nath were coming in place of Colin de Grandhomme, Prayas Barman and Shivam Dube. RCB started their innings steadily but lost the plot with the introduction of spin. Shreyas Gopal dismissed Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Shimron Hetmyer in a span of three overs. Parthiv Patel held the one end tight and scored his twelfth fifty in the Indian Premier League. Stoinis gave him good support with an unbeaten 31 and took Bengaluru’s total to 158/4.

In response, Rajasthan Royals got off to a blazing start and raced to 55 runs inside the mandatory powerplay. Jos Buttler led Rajasthan batting lineup with a fine half-century, his second in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2019. He got out to Yuzvendra Chahal after scoring 59 runs in 43 balls, but till then he had done enough damage and paved the way for an easy run-chase. Rajasthan reached the total in 19.5 overs and won the game by seven wickets.

Buttler onslaught

Explosive English batsman Jos Buttler showed his intention since the very beginning. He went after bowlers in the power play and provided Rajasthan with a massive start which proved vital in their successful run-chase of 159 runs. Buttler scored his second fifty of the IPL 2019. His knock of 59 runs in 43 balls took Rajasthan to a seven-wicket win.

Top-order fell in Shreyas Gopal’s web

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s batting lineup crumbled in the second consecutive game as top-order batsmen failed to play big innings. Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Shimron Hetmyer got out cheaply to Shreyas Gopal. The leg spinner dismissed them in three consecutive overs. Only Parthiv Patel showed some resistance and scored a fighting half-century.

Buttery fingers of RCB

RCB was poor with their ground fielding as they dropped four chances in the field. Virat Kohli was at first slip when he dropped Ajinkya Rahane at slip. Umesh Yadav dropped a sitter of Steve Smith at a crucial juncture while Megi bobbled another catch during the last overs. This proved pretty costly for RCB as they took the match till the penultimate ball of the game. Had those opportunities where grabbed, the things would have been turned pretty hard to Royals.
