The 11th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 will be taking place between the table-toppers Delhi Capitals (DC) and  Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. DC has been the team to beat so far with two wins in two games. While their match was a complete humdinger against KXIP, the likes of Anrich Nortje and Prithvi Shaw came to the fore as they decimated Chennai Super Kings by 44 runs.

While their bowling attack has done the damage of late, their batting unit seems to be finding its feet in the competition, which could spell doom for the other team in this season. On the other hand, it has been a completely different story for SRH. Most of their worries have been associated with their fragile middle order with David Warner’s slow start to the season also increasing their worries.

However, SRH is more than capable of making a strong comeback with a good performance, especially with a solid bowling attack led by Rashid Khan. Thus, we should be in for another cracking game with both teams looking for two points to gain some momentum heading into the middle phase of the tournament.’

#1. Jonny Bairstow vs Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada picked wickets at crucial junctures

One of the best limited-overs batsmen, Jonny Bairstow will be facing one of the finest modern-day pacers, Kagiso Rabada and it promises a lot on paper. The SRH opener was the highest run-scorer for the team in the tournament opener against RCB, so he would be keen to continue the momentum. Bairstow has an excellent IPL record and on the other hand, Rbada has always been a wicket-taker for KKR and he will be under pressure to prove his worth.

Rabada will be playing the role of a wicket-taker. He last played the IPL in 2019 for DC, during which he picked up 25 scalps in 16 games at a strike rate of 11.8. He will be looking forward to improving the numbers this season for sure.

#2. Prithvi Shaw vs Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Prithvi Shaw scored a brilliant fifty

This is a battle of unconventional cricketers, if we may call it so. The young opener, Prithvi Shaw was the highest run-scorer for DC in the last game as he scored 64 off just 43 balls. He would be expected to continue his form against SRH as well.

Shaw’s battle with Bhuvneshwar Kumar promises to be an enthralling one. Bhuvi has the ability to bowl yorkers at will which will help him disturbing the rhythm of the youngster. Kumar is one of the best death bowlers in the business, and Shaw will have to bat at his ferocious best to unsettle the veteran seamer.

#3. David Warner vs Amit Mishra

The flamboyant Australian opener, David Warner played a crucial role in SRH’s batting outfit last year. His stunning numbers in 2019 reveal the kind of impact he had on the tournament — 692 runs at a strike rate of 143.86.  He would look to carry on from where he left off last year. While he was equally dangerous against pace and spin last year, his battle against slow bowlers on UAE surfaces would be interesting to watch.

The pitches at venues in the Middle-East make shot-making slightly more difficult, which is why someone like Amit Mishra might trouble the big-hitting opener. Warner has the ability to keep things tight and get through his overs quickly. If he can keep Warner quiet, it might produce a false shot as the attacking batsman might look to break open.
