In the 51st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, Delhi Capitals (DC) will be locking horns with the Mumbai Indians (MI) in what promises to be a thrilling encounter at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday. With 7 wins from 12 games, DC will be eyeing to register another win in order to seal the playoff spot as MI as already qualified for the playoffs after CSK’s win over KKR.

However, MI will be keen to strengthen their position as table-toppers and continue their winning streak as well. On the other hand, after winning 7 of their first 9 games, the Capitals lost three back-to-back games and now they are in desperate need of a win. Despite the injury of Rohit Sharma, MI never missed neither their veteran batsman nor their captain and that makes the team even more dangerous.

A team that has been consistent since the beginning of the season, the three defeats were nothing but an eye-opener for Capitals as they can ill-afford to be complacent and need at least a win to seal their play-off place. Their last two matches are against tough MI and RCB. If DC loses in both the games, teams like SRH and KXIP may go past them on NRR even if they finish on 14 points.

For a team that is only fighting bad form in recent times, the management would not have too many difficult decisions to make. A couple of positions can still be replaced including the opening combination and the third pacer.

Probable XI: Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw/Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer (c), Rishabh Pant (wk), Marcus Stoinis, Shimron Hetmyer, Axar Patel, Kagiso Rabada, R Ashwin, Harshal Patel/Tushar Deshpande, Anrich Nortje

They’d have little reason to change a winning, and settled combination unless there are some injuries to manage. That’d also give them the best chance to ensure a top-two finish. MI can also consider resting some of the top guys.

Probable XI: Quinton de Kock (wk), Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Saurabh Tiwary, Krunal Pandya, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard (c), James Pattinson, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah
