In the 5th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will be locking horns with the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday. KKR got off to the perfect start with a 10-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad despite the failure of their big guns Eoin Morgan and Andre Russell with the bat. They had the uncapped duo of Nitish Rana and Rahul Tripathi for giving them a match-winning total.

KKR’s bowling attack seems to have some concerns, but Varun Chakravarthy’s performance should hold him in good stead. Not many changes are expected from the Knight Riders, given the game will be played at the same venue. On the other hand, MI  got off to a false start, following a last-ball defeat to the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2021 opener. Despite the loss, Marco Jansen’s terrific performance was a big boost for the team. They will be expected to back on the track as they have match-winner slike Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav.

Mumbai Indians are the clear favorites heading into the game as they have a superior balance and firepower which is needed in this format. They also have a great record against the Knight Riders, with the last match between the two sides ending in a comfortable eight-wicket win for the current IPL champions. However, KKR is looking like a settled unit this time, which should make for an exciting contest. With both teams eyeing a crucial win, one can expect a thriller at Chepauk on Tuesday.

Here are some fantasy XI predictions for the game:

Wicket-Keepers

Dinesh Karthik

Ishan Kishan seems to be a better pick as he has been known for making a strong comeback and he will be much more effective on pitches in Chennai. However, for KKR, Dinesh Karthik will be keeping the wickets as he is known for playing match-winning knocks, but in order to maintain the balance of the Fantasy XI, Karthik seems the better pick.

Batsmen

Rohit Sharma, Nitish Rana, Suryakuamr Yadav, Shubman Gill have always been the prime contenders for fantasy cricket. Even,  Eoin Morgan also is added in fantasy cricket and that will depend on the balance of the squad. Apart from them, there are some useful batsmen in the line-ups as well, like Saurabh Tiwary, and Eoin Morgan.

All-rounder

Hardik Pandya

There are some really reliable all-rounders in both teams but citing the pitch in Chennai, Andre Russell, Hardik Pandya, and Kieron Pollard seems to be the perfect fit. Apart from them, the good all-rounders for fantasy cricket are Shakib Al Hasan and Krunal Pandya.

Bowlers

Both the teams don’t have decent bowling line-ups but they don’t have practiced a lot. Bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Pat Cummins, Prasidh Krishna, and Rahul Chahar become the obvious choices for the Fantasy XI on the dusty track at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Apart from them, some crucial bowlers can be like, Varun Chakravarthy, Trent Boult, and Marco Jansen.
