New Zealand pacer Mitchell McClenaghan has lashed out at Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli for pressurizing the umpire to overturn his decision. Kohli was spotted giving comical reactions when he appealed for LBW against Rishabh Pant during the 22^nd match of the Indian Premier League 2021.

The incident occurred on the first ball of the seventh over, which Washington Sundar was bowling. Pant was trying to sweep the ball, instead, it hit him on his pads. Virat Kohli and co. went up in appeal straightaway and the umpire raised his finger after remaining unmoved for a while. Kohli let out a big roar after this wicket but his celebration was cut short when Pant opted for a review.

Pant had under-edged the ball while playing the ball and got the decision overturned. This was an early reprieve for the DC skipper as he went on to score a fifty in the game.

Meanwhile, former Mumbai Indians pacer Mitchell McClenaghan noticed Kohli and his team’s antics of jumping high while appealing. He took it to Twitter and expressed his displeasure. See the tweet below;

Earlier, Rishabh Pant won the toss and invited RCB to bat first, keeping the dew factor in mind. RCB openers fell off cheaply and the responsibility fell on the shoulders of AB de Villiers once again. The veteran batsman didn’t disappoint his team and played a blinder of a knock. His unbeaten 75 runs in 42 balls took RCB’s total to 171/5 in 20 overs.

In response, RCB bowlers bowled with their tails up. Kyle Jamieson dismissed in-form Shikhar Dhawan before Mohammed Siraj sent Steve Smith back. Prithvi Shaw was looking in good touch before throwing his wicket away to Harshal Patel. Rishabh Pant held one end tight but went very conservative with his approach. Shimron Hetmyer blasted RCB bowlers to all corners of the park but Delhi Capitals fell just one run short of the target.
