The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians (MI) had found themselves in a spot of bother in the first half of the IPL 2018. However, in the last seven games, they have managed to go past the victory line in five matches and because of that, they are standing at the fourth position on the points table. Moreover, they have a Net Run Rate of +0.384, which makes them serious contenders for a playoffs berth as well.

Mumbai Indians are scheduled to play just one more game in the league stage which will be a must-win for them against Delhi Daredevils (DD) at the Feroz Shah Kotla. However, on Wednesday, they played against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at the Wankhede Stadium and won the game by a narrow margin of three runs.

Kiron Pollard’s 22-ball fifty and a fiery cameo from Krunal Pandya helped MI to put up a winning score of 186 on the board. During the run chase, KL Rahul and Aaron Finch’s partnership of 111 runs off 74 balls brought KXIP in the game as they were looking to win the match comfortably. But, Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, and Finch in the death overs and these wickets were enough to turn the course of the game.

After the win, the MI pacer Mitchell McClenaghan found some time to flex his muscles. With 17 runs required off the final over, he took his team home. Though the southpaw bowler went for a couple of boundaries, he was able to help the hosts to victory. He resorted to some push-ups to get himself pumped up after the win.

In the first innings, Mitchell also scored 11 runs off seven balls, including a boundary and a six and the knock helped Mumbai breach the 180-run mark. Here is Mitchell McClenaghan’s post:
