In past one week or so, Ben Stokes has become the talk of the town as he amassed 254 runs and took three wickets in England’s second Test against West Indies. The spectacular performance helped the host to register a series leveling win despite the fact that the entire Day 3 of the Test was washed off due to incessant rain in Manchester.

The English skipper, Joe Root recently referred to Stokes as ‘Mr Incredible’ and added, “We are watching a player at the peak of his powers, at the peak of world cricket, delivering time and again.” Senior pacer James Anderson has also left awestruck by Ben Stokes’ magic on the field.

During a recent chat with the reporters, Anderson said, “He’s certainly the best all-rounder I’ve ever played with and he’s becoming the best all-rounder that England’s ever had. There’s no reason why he can’t go on to become even better. With the bat, he’s averaging in the 40s, with the ball he’s below 30, and he’s taking spectacular catches. It’s just incredible that we’ve got him on our team and he’s great to watch.”

He further elaborated, “It’s hard to say how good he is because it’s hard to find the words. Joe said the other day we were in the presence of greatness and he’s spot on. He gets into any team as a batsman, while his bowling gets better and better each time he goes out there.”

Notably, Ben Stokes has managed to come out with consistent performances with the bat and ball and it has helped him to topple Jason Holder to become the number one all-rounder in Test cricket. The New Zealand-born cricketer has been enjoying the form of his life since the 2019 World Cup and continues to be his team’s biggest asset time and again.
