Jimmy Neesham Replies To Fan Asking To Dismiss Virat Kohli In WTC Final

New Zealand’s all-rounder Jimmy Neesham has always been known to be an entertaining character on and off the cricket field. He often gets engaged in hilarious conversations on social media and often grabs headlines with his wit and humor. On May 20, Thursday, Neesham garnered a lot of eyeballs when he gave a sarcastic reply to a fan on social media that attracted the attention of the cricket fraternity.

New Zealand will be up locking horns with India in the final of the inaugural edition of the World Test Championship from June 18 to June 22 at Southampton. Ahead of the WTC final, the Black Caps will be locking horns against England in the two-match Test series, scheduled to be commencing on June 2. For the same, New Zealand has named a 20-member Test squad, under teh captaincy of Kane Williamson.

Keeping in mind that India will be locking horns against New Zealand in the WTC final, a fan questioned Jimmy Neesham, “Do you think you can get the wicket of @imVkohli or @ImRo45 in the #WTCFinal ?”

The question asked by the fan caught the attention of Blackcaps’ all-rounder and he didn’t take much time to come up with a sarcastic reply. The 30-year-old wrote that it’s highly unlikely that he will be able to send anyone from Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma back to the pavilion. “I would say that’s very unlikely,” Jimmy replied.

The strange reply from the all-rounder came as he has;t been included in the 20-member squad announced by New Zealand for the Test fixtures. Jimmy Neesham made his Test debut for New Zealand in 2014 against India, but he has played just 12 matches in the purest format of the game.

In 12 Test fixtures, Neesham has only managed to score 709 runs at an average of 33.8 while he has also picked 14 wickets at an economy rate of 3.76 and an average of 48.2. However, Jimmy hasn’t featured in a Test game for the Black Caps since March 2017.
