The veteran Indian cricketer, Suresh Raina has recently undergone knee surgery in Amsterdam and because of the same reason, he will not be able to take the field which will force him to miss the initial phase of India’s upcoming domestic season as he will be out of action for the next four to six weeks.
Replying to BCCI’s post, former South Africa cricketer Jonty Rhodes has come up with crucial advice for the southpaw as he asked the latter to listen to his body and ending his post with #aramse.
Rhodes tweeted: “@ImRaina u have been an inspiration to so many with your incredible work ethic over your career, especially these last couple of years. Listen to your body now my friend – knowing u, u will want to be out training tomorrow #aramse”.

Due to the knee surgery, Raina is all set to be ruled out of the Duleep Trophy beginning August 17 as well as the Vijay Hazare trophy, which is slated to commence on September 24. The veteran southpaw has played as many as 18 Tests, 226 ODIs for India in which he has managed to amass 768 and 5,615 runs respectively. He also featured in 78 T20Is games where he gathered 1605 runs.
He was last seen in action during the 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL) where he scored 383 runs in 17 matches for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). In the tournament, Raina also went on to score three half-centuries. However, he is out of favor with the Indian selectors, and last played for the country in the tour of England last July. He made his last international appearance for the Men in Blue during an ODI against England at Leeds in July 2018.
