In the third and deciding ODI of the ongoing three-match ODI series between India and New Zealand, Indian captain, Virat Kohli, came in to bat at 29-1 in the seventh over. Kohli walked in to bat at No. 3 after Shikhar Dhawan (14) was dismissed by Tim Southee.

Kohli started watchfully against the new ball pair of Southee and Trent Boult. Having said that, it did not force him to be over-defensive. The deliveries which were bowled in his arc were still hit for boundaries. Boundaries which came in the most stylish of manner, especially when one is as young as Kohli was in his innings.

The third ball which Kohli faced was hit for a boundary off Southee through the mid-wicket region. On the first ball of the ninth over, Kohli repeated the effort against the same bowler, but, through covers this time.
