Virat Kohli led Team India became the first Asian team who successfully beat Australia in a Test series in January 2019. Although India had been touring Australia since 1947, they never managed to do this in the country. India’s pace attack – Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami played the key role in India’s historic series win on the Australian soil. On the other hand, Australia opener Marcus Harris, who was making his Test debut in that series, shared his experience on facing the Indian pace battery during the Perth Test.
They picked up a total of 51 wickets in the four matches with Australia getting bundled out 7 times out of 8 during the series. Harris was hit on the helmet in the first innings of the Perth Test, whereas limited-overs captain Aaron Finch was retired hurt.
“I was scared Facing that attack (Indian fast bowlers) on that wicket (Perth) was scary. It might have looked good on TV, but it was scary in the middle,” Marcus Harris said in the docu-series The Test’.

However, Australia were trying their best to get back in forms after the 2018 ball-tampering scandal as they were playing without the two of best players – David Warner and Steve Smith. However, Australia won the 2nd Test in Perth by 146 runs to level the series after Indian batsmen showed a rather forgettable performance.
India won the first and third Tests in Adelaide and Melbourne respectively whereas Australia won in the second match in Perth. However, the fourth Test ended in a draw after the fifth day’s play was called off due to bad weather.
