Former wicketkeeper-batsman and current South Africa head coach Mark Boucher has shared a unique way in between the ongoing “global lockdown” due to the coronavirus pandemic. He said that cell phones should also be turned off for two weeks in this situation. The whole world has been suffering in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak which has so far taken more than 7,000 lives. The virus has affected all aspects of life and countries across the globe, which originated from China’s Wuhan as expected.
“The only thing missing in this ‘global lockdown’ is the cell phone use! What about turning that off for 2 weeks as well!?” Mark Boucher had tweeted on Tuesday.

Earlier, India opener Rohit Sharma also expressed his concern over the novel coronavirus outbreak and urged everyone to follow all preventive steps. In a video shared on his official Twitter and Facebook accounts, he said that people need to be smart and proactive to tackle this dangerous situation.

“Last few weeks have been tough for all of us and the world has come to a standstill, which is very sad to see. The only way we can come to normalcy is by coming together. And we can do this by being a little smart, a little proactive, knowing our surroundings and as and when we get any symptoms inform your nearest medical authorities,” said Rohit Sharma.

Captain Virat Kohli has also asked people to “stay safe and vigilant”.
“Let’s stay strong and fight the COVID-19 outbreak by taking all precautionary measures. Stay safe, be vigilant, and most importantly remember, prevention is better than cure. Please take care everyone,” Virat Kohli had tweeted last week.

Coronavirus has affected not only everyone’s lives but also sporting events across the globe which included the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League where no decision took place during Monday’s teleconference by the eight IPL franchise owners as the situation has not changed much in the last few days amid the novel coronavirus pandemic in the country as well as globally.
Earlier the BCCI has postponed the start date of the tournament from March 29 to April 15 as India currently reported 126 positive cases and two deaths for COVID-19 so far. While all the foreign visas have already been put on hold till April 15, the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has said that a “truncated IPL” can take place.
