Michael Vaughan has been in constant talks around the cricketing fraternity for giving his opinion. His statements have often brought criticism as well. His recent words on Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson had sparked a controversy among the cricket lovers and Vaughan himself ended up indulging in an ugly fight with former Pakistan skipper Salman Butt.

Jasprit Bumrah has been sensational since making his Test debut

Recently, Vaughan picked Williamson ahead of Kohli as the best batsman in the world. Things were fine this far but his explanation of his remarks was the reason that sparked the controversy.

“If Kane Williamson was Indian, he would be the greatest player in the world. But he’s not because you’re not allowed to say that Virat Kohli is not the greatest, because you’d get an absolute pelting on social media. So, you all say Virat is the best purely to get a few more clicks and likes, few more numbers following here. Kane Williamson, across formats, is equally the best. I think the way he plays, the calm demeanour, his humbleness, the fact that he is silent about what he does,” Vaughan had told Spark Sport.

Now, he has, again, opted to give his opinion on who’s the best in the world. This time around Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult were in his focus. Vaughan picked the best bowler among these two while knowing it is a very close call to make.

“Bumrah or Boult. I can’t decide. I’m going to sit on the fence probably for the first time in my life. I would say Boult because he’s been doing it for longer, but Bumrah is incredible and a brilliant skilled bowler, bowled so well in England a couple of years ago. So I think it’s very, very close,” Vaughan told Spark Sport.

Trent Boult is the leader of NZ pace attack

Boult is among the best pacers around the world currently and has served New Zealand well for the last few years. He has picked 281 Test wickets so far and will be leading Kiwi spearhead during the World Test Championship Final against India.

On the other hand, Bumrah rose to fame after making a sensational debut in the IPL. His skills and ability to control the ball is phenomenal. His recent years have been outstanding and has helped India reaching new heights in international cricket.
