Delhi Daredevils after being asked to bat first by Virat Kohli managed to score 181 thanks to stellar innings from Abhishek Sharma and Rishabh Pant. Chahal struck the early blows but Pant managed to breakthrough and again played a blinding inning. After his dismissal, Debutant Sharma took over and eclipsed him in clean hitting. RCB need 182 runs to win the match.

Earlier in the night, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to chase against Delhi Daredevils. RCB need to win each and every match and then hope that other results go their way if they want to have a go at the playoffs. RCB surprisingly brought in Sarfraz Khan in place of Manan Vohra.

Delhi Daredevils now free from the burden of qualifying for the playoffs made three changes. They handed Debut to Abhishek Sharma and Junior Dala. They also handed a debut to the 16-year old leg spinner from Nepal, Sandip Lamicchane. He became the first Nepalese to play in the IPL.

Virat opened the bowling with his ace leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and the move worked extremely well. He kept both the openers quiet and on the last ball of the first over, bowled Prithvi Shaw with one going the other way. Jason Roy showed his intentions with 10 from Yadav’s next over but he too fell to Chahal and DD now again had to rely on Pant and Iyer.

Rishabh Pant

The boy on a rampage, Rishabh Pant again showed his enormous potential and was in fluent hitting form. He smacked consecutive sixes to Mohammad Siraj and maintained the boundaries flow. He was finally out to a brilliant catch from AB De Villiers and got out for 61 from just 34 balls.

Rest of the night belonged to the young lad Abhishek Sharma. He smacked his second ball for a boundary and then walloped Tim Southee for consecutive sixes. He stroke timing was excellent and caressed the ball over boundary ropes. He ended up with 46 from 19 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes. Chahal was the pick of the bowlers with 2/28
