Sunrisers Hyderabad playing at their home ground, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, managed to restrict Delhi Daredevils to only 163 runs after they had piled up 95 runs in the first ten overs. SRH has been renowned for their superb bowling attack and they once again proved it. Delhi had a brilliant start courtesy of Prithvi Shaw but failed to continue the fight.

Earlier in the night, Kane Williamson won the toss and chose to chase the target. Hyderabad included fit Bhuvneshwar Kumar tonight in the place of Basil Thampi. Delhi decided to drop Colin Munro and brought in Daniel Christian. They included Naman Ojha also in place of Shahbaz Nadeem.

In absence of Colin Munro, Glenn Maxwell was sent out to open with Prithvi Shaw. Maxwell was out in the most unfortunate way in the second over itself as Shaw’s straight drive touched Sharma’s hand and crashed on the stumps with Maxwell out of the crease.

Young Shaw once again put up a show with his stellar batting. He was severe on anything in his arc. Against the most respected bowling attack in the competition, Prithvi scored 65 runs from just 36 balls with six fours and three sixes. When he got out, DD in was 95/2 in 10.1 overs. A very commanding position.

From there SRH clawed their way back and gave just 68 runs in the next 59 balls. They managed to contain Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer. Rashid Khan took 2/23 in his four overs. It was Vijay Shankar’s 13-ball 23 in the end that took Delhi past 160-runs mark.
