Mohammed Shami picked 3 wickets in the second innings of the cape town Test

Indian seamer Mohammad Shami joined the elite list of Indian bowlers as he picked up his 50th Test wicket outside the sub-continent. He became the 14th Indian bowler to do so when he dismissed Kagiso Rabada for 5 on Day 4 of the 1st Test against South Africa at Cape Town.

The Bengal speedster has emerged as a crucial cog for India in recent times, picking wickets with both the new as well as the old ball. The record for most scalps outside the subcontinent is held by Anil Kumble, who picked up an incredible 200 wickets.

Next in line for Shami will be Sreesanth and Venkatesh Prasad, who took 54 and 55 wickets respectively in the overseas conditions. India picked up quick wickets on day 4 of the 1st Test to fight their way back into the Test match.

Along with Shami, Bumrah was the key bowler who also picked up 3 wickets as India wrapped up South Africa for 130 and now teh visitors need to chase to 208 to win the Test.
