Mahendra Singh Dhoni might not be having the best of IPL in front of the wickets but he is certainly enjoying the rewards behind the wickets. Over the course of this season, Dhoni has affected some witty stumpings at crucial times to hurt the opposition team.
His catch to get rid of Marlon Samuels was exemplary of his form with the gloves in this IPL. On the last delivery of the 14th over, Samuels pulled a Dan Christian short delivery but could only manage a top edge. The ball was rising slowly as it was on its way past Dhoni. This is where he brought out a perfect jump and caught the ball with one hand.
In what was Dhoni’s 101st dismissal in the IPL, he grabbed it in the best possible manner. He had affected his 100th dismissal earlier in the match when he caught Shreyas Iyer off Jaydev Unadkat. Dhoni has now overtaken Kumar Sangakkara in terms of most catches taken by a wicket-keeper. Watch the full video:
