Photos Of Pakistan Cricketers Removed From Mohali Stadium

In order to show some amount of support for the families of martyrs of the Pulwama terror attack, Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) on Sunday decided to the photographs of Pakistani cricketers from various points inside the stadium in Mohali. Talking about the same, to PTI, PCA Treasurer Ajay Tyagi explained that the decision to remove the photographs of Pakistani cricketers from Mohali Stadium was taken at a meeting of the cricket body’s office bearers.

Tyagi elaborated, “As a humble step, the PCA has decided to show its solidarity with the families of martyrs of the Pulwama attack. There is so much anger in the nation against the heinous attack and PCA is no different in this.”

Similarly, a day after covering Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s portrait to protest against the cowardly terror attack on CRPF convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district, the Cricket Club of India announced to remove it completely.

The CCI, which is an affiliated unit of BCCI, is home to the iconic Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, which has hosted many Test matches and is considered to be a cricketing hub in the financial capital of India. There are at least 15 photos of Pakistani cricketers inside the Mohali stadium and Pakistan’s present Prime Minister Imran Khan is one among the Pakistani cricketers whose photographs have been removed.

Besides, other pictures are of cricketers including veterans like Shahid Afridi, Javed Miandad, and Wasim Akram.

On Thursday, more than 40 CRPF personnel died on Thursday in the single worst terror attack in the Valley when a suicide bomber rammed his Scorpio SUV loaded with more than 100 kgs of explosives into a CRPF bus in south Kashmir. Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist organization claimed responsibility for the attack and identified the bomber as a 20-year-old local resident from south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

The bus, ferrying over 40 soldiers, was part of a convoy of 78 vehicles with 2,547 CRPF personnel, moving from Jammu to Srinagar. Most of the men were returning from leave to join duty in Srinagar, said sources.

Apart from Mohali, The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) has done the same now as they have removed the photos of the cricketers belonging from Pakistan from the Sawai Mansingh Stadium’s photo gallery. According to India TV, after CCI and PCA, even Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) decided to take a stern step against the neighboring country.
