Stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma revealed a childhood incident when Police threatened him to arrest as he used to break window glasses of his neighbors. Rohit made this confession on Gaurav Kapoor s famous talk show Breakfast with Champions.

Rohit has an immense ability to play big shots around the ground. Sri Lanka must be well aware of this fact as they again took the brunt of Hitman, who equaled David Miller’s record of the fastest T20I century. His innings ended on 118, which he scored in just 43 balls with help of 12 fours and 10 sixes.

“My family always liked cricket. In a day, if not for all the 24 hours, at least 16 hours we used to watch cricket. All my chachas (uncles) and buas (aunts) have played cricket, not at the highest level but in school and college. Of course (my uncles got involved in my game). When I used to play in our building, my chacha used to watch me from the top, checking my batting. I have broken a lot of window glasses. There was a police complaint against me for breaking glasses,” said Rohit.

He went to add more and quoted “Once police came and threatened with putting me in jail if repeated. All the neighbors were troubled by us daily (breaking glasses). We were three to four of us who played cricket always. Later we used to go to grounds and play but we never completely let go of playing in our building. We never gave up on that.”

Earlier, Rohit smacked Sri Lanka badly to register his third double ton in Mohali ODI. He has leapfrogged AB de Villiers to become a batsman with the most number of sixes in a calendar year.
