Pakistan cricket team’s star pace bowler Shaheen Afridi has recently shared his views on whether he will ever feature in the Indian Premier League. However, the IPL is the world’s biggest T20 league featuring players from all over the cricketing world. Notably, due to political reasons, Pakistan players have not played in the league after the 2008 season as well.

In the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League, players like Shoaib Akhtar, Sohail Tanvir, Shahid Afridi, Misbah-ul-Haq, Salman Butt, Umar Gul and others participated in the cash-rich league. Tanvir even won the Purple Cap as well and registered the first-ever six-wicket haul by a player in the history of the league.

Meanwhile, Shaheen Afridi is a left-arm fast bowler like Sohail Tanvir. In a recent interaction as reported by Arfa Feroz Zake on Twitter, Shaheen was asked if he wants to play in the IPL. Here’s what he replied: “Playing for your country is the proudest moment for any cricketer and so my priority is always my Pakistan. Playing all three formats for your country and then PSL is enough for me right now.”

Notably, Shaheen Afridi made his debut as captain in the Pakistan Super League and captained the Lahore Qalandars to their maiden championship as well. Afridi came into the limelight after his three-wicket haul against the Indian cricket team in the ICC T20 World Cup last year as well. Afridi will get another chance to play against the Indian cricket team this year too as they will go head-to-head in the Asia Cup T20 and ICC T20 World Cup 2022 as well. It will be interesting to see how he performs in the mega event.
