Gujarat Titans (GT) registered a close win by six wickets against Punjab Kings (PBKS) and a lot of credit for that goes to the GT all-rounder, Rahul Tewatia, who smashed 12 runs off the last two balls of the match to seal a memorable win for his team. Having set a decent enough target of 190 runs on a batting track, PBKS looked behind the 8-ball while defending the score as the GT opener, Shubman Gill played a knock of 59-ball 96. Gill and Hardik Pandya were looking well on the course of getting the team over the line but then Shubman was dismissed by Kagiso Rabada in the 19th over.

Needing 19 to win off the last over, Punjab, after a wide on the first ball, got rid of the dangerous looking Hardik Pandya, via a run out, to hand the initiative to Punjab. David Miller and Rahul Tewatia could only muster five runs off the next two balls leaving the Gujarat-based franchise needing 13 off the last three balls.

Needing at least a run to keep his side in the game, Smith had a brain fade as he took a shy at the stumps instead of holding onto the ball. It resulted in a run and brought Tewatia on strike. The former RR man-made the West Indian pay for the mistake with two back-to-back sixes to hand the win to the Titans.
