Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians played a thrilling match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Mumbai scored a big total of 187 runs on board while batting first. Skipper Rohit Sharma top-scored with 48 runs in 33 balls. Hardik Pandya gave Mumbai the final flourish and took them to a final total.

In response, Bengaluru started on a good node and was heading towards an easy win until they run into an in-form Jasprit Bumrah, who conceded just six runs in his last two overs and took the crucial wicket of Kohli at the most important moment of the match. No-ball blunder by umpire

The match turned several times on its head during the last five overs of RCB’s batting. The final twist in the turn came during the last over, where Shivam Dube hit Malinga for a six on the very first ball. From 11 off 5 to 7 off 1, equations turned quickly in favour of Mumbai. Malinga bowled a superb delivery on the last ball and won the game for Mumbai but umpire S Ravi failed to notice that it was a no-ball. Had that been called a no-ball, things could have been different.

RCB’s misery at death overs continues

Bengaluru pulled things pretty quickly in their favour when they dismissed Suryakumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard in the same over. But Hardik Pandya was in some mood today and scored 40 runs off the final three overs. This helped Mumbai to recover towards the final stage and gave them a much-needed boost. Pandya scored 32 runs off just 14 balls, including two fours and three sixes.

Death over specialist ‘Jazzy B’

RCB was needed 41 runs in the last 24 balls with AB de Villiers was still on the crease. Jasprit Bumrah came to bowl the 17th over and conceded just one run while snared the important wicket of Shimron Hetmyer. Bumrah, then, returned to bowl the 19th over and conceded just five runs and dismissed Colin de Grandhomme in his final over. Thus, he finished the match with figures of 3/20 in his quota of four overs.
