Royal Challengers Bangalore hasn’t off to a good start in the Indian Premier League 2019 and lost both their opening games. This was not the best time to play against the heavyweight Sunrisers Hyderabad, who has been dominating the proceedings in the ongoing IPL. Virat Kohli won the toss and invited Hyderabad to have a bat. David Warner and Jonny Bairstow came out to bat in some mood and scored boundaries in all corners of the park. In the process, both notched up their respective centuries and took SRH’s total to 231/2 in 20 overs.

In response, RCB got off to the worst possible start. They lost three wickets inside the powerplay including the priced wicket of AB de Villiers for 1. Mohammad Nabi was the star with the ball took all three wickets. Virat Kohli got dismissed by Sandeep Sharma and Moeen Ali followed him the next ball as he ran himself out. Warner-Bairstow assault

David Warner and Jonny Bairstow were in a mood to punish the RCB bowlers today. They took no time and started hitting boundaries on every given opportunity. Both shared their third straight hundred run opening partnership and in the process, become the first pair to achieve this rare feat in the Indian Premier League. Bairstow looked more threatening as he was dealing in boundaries and raced to his century in the 15th over. While David Warner took his time and touched the three-figure mark in the last over of SRH’s batting. They scored 185 runs for the opening wicket in less than 16 overs.

Mohammad Nabi ripped through RCB

The afghani all-rounder was playing his match in the IPL 2019 and he took no time in showing off his Mattel. He ripped through Bengaluru’s star-studded batting lineup in the powerplay and dismissed as many as three batsmen inside the first six overs. The priced wicket of AB de Villiers was included in that list. He came back to finish his spell after the powerplay and got Shivam Dube’s wicket as well. He finished his match spell with 4-0-11-4, which sealed the game for SRH inside the first ten overs.

Top-order fell like a pack of cards

Chasing a mammoth target of 232 runs, Bengaluru was in need of a big opening partnership. Hence, they sent big-hitting batsman Shimron Hetmyer to open the batting with Parthiv Patel. But this decision didn’t pay off and both batsmen dismissed in two successive Mohammad Nabi deliveries. Virat Kohli scored just three runs while AB de Villiers got out to the second ball that he faced. RCB’s top-four managed just 24 runs and left the team in tatters at 30/5 in 6.2 overs.
