Finally India and Sri Lanka series witness a close finish in the limited-over leg but the result hasn’t been changed yet. Indians denied any miraculous turnaround by Sri Lankan cricket team and won the match by five wickets.

Every batsman in the line-up played well in the middle but no one stayed at the crease to finish the proceedings. Thus, hosts saw it as a tricky target at the end but Dinesh Karthik’s six on the last ball of penultimate over easily shifted the momentum in India’s favor.

Manish Pandey was the top-scorer with 32 runs, followed by Shreys Iyer’s 30 and skipper Rohit Sharma managed 27. Sri Lanka’s Dushmantha Chameera was the pick of the bowling department, who forced the match to come on wire but his efforts were not supported well enough from the other end.

With this win, India completed a whitewash and Rohit Sharma kicked his T20I captaincy career on high. India’s next assignment will start in South Africa, which has already attracted much of hype.
