Ricky Ponting choses his World Cup 2019 semi-finalists

After one of the most celebrated leagues in India, the world is all geared up for the upcoming ICC World Cup. As the World Cup is around the corner, all the teams are busy to pick up their best squad. along with this, analysts have started predicting their teams as well. However, there are many discussions going on regarding the semi-finalists and finalists where former Australia captain Ricky Ponting also chose his predicted four semi-finalists.

Ricky Ponting, the coach of IPL franchise Delhi Capitals has chosen England along with India. He also chose Australia in the top-four teams. Australia are currently in great form. After having won the T20 series against India last month, they registered a 3-2 victory against India in ODIs as well which certainly raised the expectations. Moreover, David Warner and Steve Smith’s inclusion in the squad will strengthen it. However, Ponting chose New Zealand as well which is one of the talented teams in the world cricket.

“England, India, Australia and maybe New Zealand. Of course, you never know what Pakistan and West Indies are gonna do!” Ponting said to Cricbuzz.

While talking about the team’s aggressiveness in recent times, Ponting shared, “I don’t think they’ve been un-Australian. It’s quite hard to be aggressive when you’re not playing well, and I think the Australian team hasn’t played well for a while, until the last week or so.”

Prior to the IPL and the mega event, Australia will play a five-match ODI series against Pakistan. After that, the players will take part in the IPL before the World Cup. However, Ricky Ponting too will join the team as the assistant coach during the quadrennial event.
