Rishabh Pant Will Be Discharged From The Hospital In Two Weeks?

The Indian wicket-keeper batter, Rishabh Pant underwent knee surgery ten days ago and he is still kept under observation by doctors to assess if the ligaments are healing naturally. asper the latest reports of TOI, Pant has had a major surgery on the medial collateral ligament (MCL) and minor repair on the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) while the doctors are hoping the rest of his injured ligaments will be healing naturally.

Talking about the same, one of the sources of TOI in BCCI said, “All the ligaments were injured. The posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) is a cause of concern. The doctors said that MCL surgery was absolutely necessary. Now, his PCL will be assessed in two weeks. Hopefully, it will not need any further surgery. As of now, he essentially has undergone just one major surgery.”

According to sources, Rishabh Pant is likely to be discharged after a couple of weeks. Thereon, BCCI will chart his rehabilitation.

The source further elaborated, “The ligaments usually heal in four to six weeks. After that rehab and strengthening will begin. His return to play will be assessed in another two months. Pant realizes that it will be a tough road. He will have to undergo counseling sessions too. It could be four to six months before he can start playing.”

Taking to the micro-blogging site, Twitter, Rishabh Pant shared a photo of the two youths, Rajat Kumar and Nishu Kumar, thanking them and stating that he would forever remain grateful to them.

In his tweet, Rishabh Pant wrote, “I may not have been able to thank everyone individually, but I must acknowledge these two heroes who helped me during my accident and ensured I got to the hospital safely. Rajat Kumar & Nishu Kumar, Thank you. I’ll be forever grateful and indebted,” the 25-year-old’s post read.

The left-handed star batter also posted an update on his health, stating that his road to recovery has begun and he thanked all his fans, well-wishers, the BCCI and its secretary, Jay Shah, for all the support.

In another tweet, Rishabh Pant wrote: “I am humbled and grateful for all the support and good wishes. I am glad to let you know that my surgery was a success. The road to recovery has begun and I am ready for the challenges ahead. Thanks to the @BCCI, @JayShah & government authorities for their incredible support. From the bottom of my heart, I also would like to thank all my fans, teammates, doctors, and the physios for your kind words and encouragement. Looking forward to seeing you all on the field. #grateful #blessed”.
