India opener Rohit Sharma has recently announced on Instagram that he will come live on Instagram and will be chatting with some of his teammates during the lockdown days in the wake of the novel coronavirus outbreak across the globe. The Indian government announced a 21-day country-wide lockdown on Tuesday to fight against the spread of Covid-19 pandemic. Nearly 700 people have been affected and 16 have lost their lives due to this in India, as of March 26.

Rohit Sharma started his Instagram live in a candid chat with his good friend Yuzvendra Chahal on Thursday evening and urged people to stay indoors as well. He also said that lockdown has given a break to his busy schedule and he is learning to do household works as well.

“I am trying my best to do household chores. I was talking to Kevin Pietersen about this. He messaged me at 12, I replied at 1:30. He asked me what was keeping me busy for 1 and half hours during a lockdown. I told him I was cleaning the house,” Rohit Sharma said.

“We don’t get such chances and I am learning how to get it done. This has become my fitness (routine) now. Running behind Samaira in the house. As cricketers, we don’t get time with family. So much of touring and cricket is there. This is a time to spend with them and loads of it,” he again added.

Yuzvendra Chahal, like Kevin Pietersen, asked Rohit Sharma about the upcoming season of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 and the India opener said that the world needs to overcome the Covid-19 crisis before they can proceed to plan about hosting the cash-rich league. The IPL 2020 has been suspended until April 15 due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the country and the future looks dull due to the threat of this novel virus.

“We should first think about the country. The situation needs to get better first then we can talk about the IPL. Let life get back to normal first,” Rohit Sharma later added.
