According to various reports, Team India’s regular skipper Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the second Test against Bangladesh which will take place in Mirpur on December 22 as well. However, Rohit, who earlier missed the first Test in Chattogram, will no longer be travelling to Dhaka as well. And, vice-captain KL Rahul will continue to captain the team in his absence in the second and final Test of the series as well. Meanwhile, India are currently leading the series 1-0 after having won the first Test convincingly.

However, the news of Rohit’s unavailability came into the limelight on Monday (December 19) after it was found that his thumb, which was injured during the second ODI of the ongoing tour, is yet to be fully healed as well. Moreover, he is also suffering from a little bit of stiffness also. Meanwhile, keeping the importance of the series ahead for the team in mind, the board as well as the team management have decided not to add him and give him time to heal the injury as well.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that Rohit Sharma, who is currently in Mumbai, would have managed to bat through the Test but there will be a risk as well while fielding. The medical team and the team management felt that the injury could become serious on the field if he gets another injury in the same place as well. It is also noteworthy that, he will be available for the white ball series (three T20Is and three ODIs) against Sri Lanka starting on January 3 as well.
