Former India bowler, S Sreesanth, had developed into a lethal new-ball bowler for India. The right-arm fast medium bowler from Kerala made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka at Nagpur in 2005.

After some impressing displays of spells with the new ball, Sreesanth was included in the Test squad and made his debut in the format against England at the same venue in 2006. In the same year, he made the playing eleven of the Indian team which played its maiden T20I match against South Africa at Johannesburg.

Sreesanth had it in him to become one of India’s greatest bowlers. Had he not been banned for the wrong reasons, who knows what he could have achieved in the past four years.

In 53 ODIs, he picked up 75 wickets at an average of 33.44, an economy rate of 6.07 and a strike rate of 33. In 27 Test matches, he picked up 87 wickets at an average of 37.59, an economy rate of 3.62 and a strike rate of 62.2. In 10 T20Is, he clinched 7 wickets at an average of 41.14, an economy rate of 8.47 and a strike rate of 29.1.
