Shakib Al Hasan To Miss IPL 2021 Playoffs Due To T20 WC

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 playoffs are almost clashing with the start of the T20 World Cup 2021. In the same sequence, the Bangladesh team was all set to leave for Abu Dhabi on October 09 but a sudden change in plans have pushed them to depart for the Gulf nation on October 10. The veteran all-rounder, Shakib Al Hasan who is part of the KKR squad will also join the Bangladesh squad on Sunday alongside Rajasthan’s Mustafizur Rahman.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has already reached the playoffs stage and will play the first eliminator against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on October 11. Accoridng to the reports of Cricfrenzy, Shakib Al Hasan will miss the all-important game with his franchise as per the reports by Cricfrenzy.

Bangladesh would not be able to have a practice session ahead of their first warm-up game against Sri Lanka on October 12. It has happened due to rescheduling and players are required to undergo at least one day in-room quarantine on October 11. Bangladesh would be up against Ireland in their second warm-up game on October 15 and Shakib is an integral member of the Bangladesh setup.

Talking about the all-rounder’s stint in the IPL, Shakib Al Hasan didn’t get to play many games due to team combination and several other factors. In five games, he scalped four wickets and also managed to score  38 runs at an average nearing 13. However, his IPL team KKR displayed a great performance in the second leg of IPL in the UAE.

After having an average run in the Indian leg, KKR pulled off 5 wins in their seven games. However, it will be a thing to see how they would play against RCB in the first eliminator. If KKR wins the match against RCB, they will play against the losing team between DC and CSK.
