Former New Zealand pacer Simon Doull applauded Royal Challengers Bangalore all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, saying that he is winning games for RCB on a consistent basis. However, RCB defeated SunRisers Hyderabad by eight wickets at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium to keep their playoff hopes alive as well. While speaking to Cricbuzz after the game, Doull said Maxwell is getting the job done for RCB on a daily basis. Maxwell has scored 389 runs and claimed three wickets in 13 matches this season so far as well.

“He [Glenn Maxwell] is now winning games for them on a consistent basis. He is getting them home and is doing that job. A calm, clear Glenn Maxwell who is just allowed to do what he does best, and feels like he is a big part of the team and a chief contributor, bodes well for them,” said Simon Doull.

However, Doull was also impressed with Heinrich Klaasen’s century against RCB, saying that he was outdone by Virat Kohli’s ton but will feel good to score a hundred in the IPL. Klaasen scored a 51-ball 104, smashing eight fours and six maximums against RCB as well.

“He scored his hundred 10 or 11 balls quicker than Virat’s hundred, but it doesn’t matter. When you’re chasing, all you have to do is win. So, that’s the strike rate comparison. It will feel good that he has got a hundred, it is the end of the season, there was no chance of qualifying, but he has been outdone,” Simon Doull further added.
