After an exciting Test series, India and South Africa will be locking horns with each other in a 3-match ODI series scheduled to be commencing on January 19. The first two matches of the series will be played at Boland Park, Paarl while the third game is scheduled to be played at Newlands, Cape Town. India will be led by the stand-in skipper, KL Rahul in the absence of Rohit Sharma. Temba Bavuma, who had a great recent Test series with the bat, will be leading the Proteas.

Team India has included Jayant Yadav and Navdeep Saini in the series. Washington Sundar tested positive for Covid-19 and was ruled out of the series. On the other hand, South Africa has given a maiden ODI call-up to Marco Jansen considering his excellent performance in the Test series. Dwaine Pretorius and Andile Phehlukwayo have made a comeback as well.

The two teams have played fifteen matches against each other in South Africa where India has managed to register a win in nine matches while the Proteas have won reaming games. Virat Kohli, Lokesh Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, and Jasprit Bumrah are some of the key players from the Indian team while Quinton de Kock, Rassie van der-Dussen, Dwaine Pretorius, and Kagiso Rabada are the important players from the South African squad.

Temba Bavuma will be making a comeback to the team after a gap of more than four months and they will be leading the team as well. That said, he has missed only three ODIs. South Africa is likely to deploy two spinners.
