Star Sports has now 80 brands as sponsor for IPL 2018

This year, Star Sports will telecast the Indian Premier League for the first time. While less than a month ago Star Sports announced that they have 34 brands as the sponsor for the upcoming tournament, now the report is saying Star Sports has 80 brands as the sponsor for the IPL 2018.

The eleventh edition IPL (IPL 2018) will be telecasted by Star Sports. In the last September, Star India had won the worldwide broadcasting rights for TV and digital media of the IPL for 2018 to 2022 by bidding INR 16,347.50 crores. According to the Insidesport, The IPL 2018 broadcaster Star Sports has now 80 brands for the upcoming IPL.

One of the latest joined brand is Vodafone. Vodafone ZooZoo gained popularity from the previous IPL seasons and the ZooZoo will also entertain this season. This time ZooZoo has a new Ninja avatar.

Vodafone was one of the brands who were official IPL sponsors in the all ten editions, but this season they have not renewed with BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India).

On the other hand, Star Sports has recently announced their other latest joining brands for the IPL 2018 which are Amazon, Pepsi Co, Honda Motors and Scooters, Mondelez, Shaadi.com, Samsung, Nivea, Swiggy, MRF, Policybazaar.com and Madhura Garments.

Among the earlier 34 brands for IPL 2018, some of those are Jio, AMFI, Asian Paints, Berger Paints, Blue Star, Ceat Tyres, Crompton, Dollar, Domino’s, Ford, Haier, Luminous, Pidilite, Sleep Well, Vanessa, Vimal Pan Masala, Voltas Vivo, Colgate, Amul, Coca-Cola, Dream 11, Elica, Kent, MakeMyTrip, Parle Agro, Parle Products, Polycab etc.

According to an earlier Economic Times report, Star India has the target to generate around INR 2,000 crore from the IPL sponsorship sales.

IPL 2018 will begin on April 7. Total eight teams will participate in this tournament where total 60 matches will be played (including the playoffs). The final will be played at Wankhede Stadium on May 27.
